摘要 <p>An imaging element comprising a base consisting of an integral biaxially oriented polyolefin polymer sheet, such as polypropylene. The polyolefin polymer sheet has an upper surface that binds to gelatin and a lower surface that has a matte surface. The imaging element is characterised by a stiffness of at least 120 millinewtons and a thickness of greater than 160 žm. A photographic element is also disclosed. The photographic element comprises at least one photosensitive layer on an integral polymer sheet comprising a top layer of polyethylene and a colourant, such as a blue pigment. Adjacent to the top layer there is an opacifying layer of polypropylene filled with a white pigment, such as titanium dioxide. Further layers of the photographic element consist of an upper voided layer, a solid polymer layer, a lower voided layer, a lower opacifying layer and a matte surface respectively.</p>
