PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet, not generating big bubbles or inflated parts in a packing member and prominent in productivity, and the manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: A vapor permeable substrate 15 is set on a conveyor belt 55 and packing material slurry 21, 31, containing an aqueous resin dispersion and at least one inorganic powder of hydraulic inorganic powder or non hydraulic inorganic powder, are formed continuously on the substrate so as to form the shape of a sheet. Subsequently, a carpet substrate 12 is superposed on the packing slurry continuously to form a laminate 10, then, heating and drying are effected while moving the laminate 10. In this case, steam is discharged out of the vapor permeable substrate 15 also to manufacture the carpet continuously.
