CABLE CONDUCTOR CUTTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cut the conductor of a power cable without scattering chips and without deforming the conductor. SOLUTION: A conductor holding blade 11 fixed to a support is provided with a semicircular recessed hold section 11a having the inner diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the conductor 100 of a power cable. A conductor cutting blade 13 slid against the conductor holding blade 11 by a hydraulic cylinder is provided with a semicircular recessed half-side blade section 13 a having the inner diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the conductor 100. A flange-like conductor fixing ring constituted of split members 15, 16 is removably fastened to the outer peripheral side of the conductor 100. The conductor fixing ring is kept in contact with the opposite face of the sliding face of the conductor holding blade 11 to prevent the conductor 100 from being moved in the longitudinal direction, the conductor 100 is restrained from the outer peripheral side by the hold section 11a and the blade section 13a to prevent the deformation of the conductor 100, the blade section 13a is allowed to bite into the conductor 100 perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction, thus the conductor 100 is cut.
