PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adapt to cylinders different in number or in number of valves. SOLUTION: Plural pairs of valve guides and valve seats are stored in a stocker 60, a tip jig 52A of a press-in machine is inserted in one pair of a valve guide and a valve seat of the stocker 60 and picked up to press the valve guide G1 and the valve seat S1 in a cylinder head, and the tip jig 52A is pulled out of the pressed-in valve guide and valve seat and returned to the stocker 60. By repeating the above operation, the valve guide and valve seat are pressed in a designated portion of the cylinder head.
