PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a crystal type oxotitanyl phthalocyanine having high photosensitivity characteristics sufficient for higher performances of an optical printer, a digital copier, etc., using a semiconductor laser or a light-emitting diode(LED) array as a light source and providing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high durability and to provide the electrophotographic photoreceptor using the crystal type oxotitanyl phthalocyanine. SOLUTION: This phthalocyanine is a crystal type oxotitanyl phthalocyanine having main peaks at 7.3 deg., 9.4 deg., 9.6 deg., 11.6 deg., 13.3 deg., 17.9 deg., 24.1 deg. and 27.2 deg. expressed in terms of Bragg angles (2θ±0.2 deg.) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum. The overlapped peak flux of 9.4 deg. and 9.6 deg. manifests the maximum peak and the peak at 27.2 deg. has the second maximum peak. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by using the crystal oxotitanyl phthalocyanine.
