<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder capable of removing inclination of a document easily by reversing a carrying roller. SOLUTION: A feeding roller 220 to normally rotate at the time of feeding, a carrying passage 6 to guide a document 5 to an image reading position 9, a carrying roller 12 to normally rotate at the time of carriage of the document 5 to the image reading position 9 and a contact roller 16 to make contact with the carrying roller 12 are provided on an automatic feeder (ADF) 2. This ADF 2 has a means to stop the feeding roller 220 and to reverse the carrying roller 12 when a front edge of the copy passes a contact part of the carrying roller 12 and the contact roller 16 and a means to normally rotate the feeding roller 220 and the carrying roller 12 after the front edge of the copy is carried backward and passes, and accordingly, the document 5 deflects in the carrying passage, it is possible to remove inclination of the document 5 made during carriage by strength which the copy has and to arrange the document vertically relative to the carrying direction and to facilitate positioning and continuous reading work.</p> |
