PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent bacterial contamination of a PEG catheter. SOLUTION: This contamination preventive cover 10 for a catheter includes a long/narrow cylindrical bag 1. One end of the bag is open, and a binding thread is sewn along the rim of the opening. A guide wire 11 and a connecting wire of the PEG catheter are inserted into the stomach from the abdominal wall, and after they are pulled out from the mouth cavity, the PEG catheter is covered by the contamination preventive cover 10, and the opening edge is bound with the binding thread. By pulling the guide wire 11 on the abdominal wall side, the PEG catheter 12 is fed into the stomach. By pulling a wire 3 for cutting, coming out of the abdominal wall, the binding thread is cut and the opening edge of the cover 10 is opened inside the stomach. |
