MEMBER FOR REMOVING ENVIRONMENT POLLUTING GAS AND LIQUID COMPOSITION FOR THE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for removing environment polluting gas for removing/decomposing/detoxifying the environment polluting gas such as formal dehyde and methyl mercaptan efficiently and a liquid composition (intermediate) applicable to the production of the member. SOLUTION: Active manganese dioxide particles are fixed on a support by using a binder to manufacture an environment polluting gas removing filter. Active manganese dioxide particles whose specific surface area is at least 70 m2/g are used preferably. A liquid composition containing 5-40 wt.% of the active manganese dioxide particles (a), 35-80 wt.% of a dispersion medium (b), and 3-35 wt.% (in solid content equivalent) of a dispersing/binding resin (c) is used appropriately to produce the filter. An acrylic resin is preferable as the dispersing/binding resin (c).
