DITHIOCARBAMATE COMPOUND AND SPIN TRAPPING AGENT FOR SCAVENGING NITROGEN MONOXIDE CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as a spin trapping agent for scavenging nitrogen monoxide in vivo. SOLUTION: This (S)- or (R)-hydroxyproline derivative dithiocarbamate is shown by formula I (R is H, an alkyl or the like; A is a cation) and its iron complex is shown by formula II such as ammonium salt of (2S,4R)4- methoxymethyloxy-2-pyrrolidinecarboxylic acid dithiocarbamate. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting N-benzyloxycarbonyl-(2S,4R)-4-hydroxy-2- pyrrolidinecarboxylic acid benzyl ester obtained by a routine procedure with chloromethyl methyl ether, etc. An obtained O-alkylamino acid derivative is catalytically reduced and N-benzyloxycarbonyl and benzyl ester are removed to give a hydroxyproline derivative of formula III. The compound of formula III is reacted with carbon disulfide in ammonia water. The iron complex of formula II is obtain by reacting the compound of formula I with iron sulfate.
