PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the heat retaining property of a rice cooker body appreciably and thus reduce and simplify the rice cooker itself by using a vacuum double structure for the inside vessel that makes up the inner surface of the rice cooker body. SOLUTION: This electric rice cooker is so constructed that the inner surface of its rice cooker body 1 is defined by an inside vessel 5 of a vacuum double structure forming a storage space for an inside pot 3. A heating means 11 is interposed between the inside vessel 5 and the inside pot 3, and a temperature detecting means 15 has such a contact face with the inside pot 3 as is above the heating means 11. The arrangement thus elevates the heat insulating property of the inside vessel 5 appreciably, the heating efficiency of the heating means 11 to the inside pot 3, and the detection accuracy of the temperature detecting means 15.
