PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shuttle mechanism commonable from low speed machine to high speed machine by an arrangement wherein a counter balancer can be mounted additionally on the shuttle mechanism section of an intermediate speed machine while taking account of the extra weight of a hammer bank where the mounting density of print element is increased for high speed machine. SOLUTION: When an intermediate speed machine is applied to a high speed machine, a hammer bank 10 having increased mounting density of print element is mounted. A counter balancer 45 can be mounted additionally on the shuttle mechanism of an intermediate speed machine while taking account of the extra weight of the hammer bank. The shuttle mechanism section for low speed machine is dealt with by simply removing an inversion urging means 40. Since a corresponding shuttle mechanism section can be constituted easily by fixing a dedicated one to a high speed machine and simply removing an unnecessary one for low speed machine, a highly commonable shuttle mechanism section can be obtained.
