PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new pectinic acid liase gene encoding a specific amino acid sequence, capable of decomposing polysaccharides constituting plant cell wall and useful for producing the above enzyme helpful for wastewater treatment, decomposition and removal of plant cell wall, cotton fiber scouring or the like, or the like. SOLUTION: The objective gene is a new pectinic acid liase gene encoding an amino acid sequence of the formula and capable of including alterations selected from a group consisting of at least one amino acid deletion, substitution, and enables us to produce pectinic acid liase in an isolated state on a large scale which is used for aftertreatment of wastewater including pectin, decomposition and removal of plant cell wall, cotton fiber scouring and a detergent ingredient and is used as a detergent, food processing agent, fiber treating agent or the like. The gene is obtained by preparing genomic DNA from Bacillus sp. KSM-P15 strain (FERM BP-6241) and by amplifying it as a template through PCR using its partial sequences as primers. |
