PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a four cycle engine provided with a smooth and high responsiveness with a high output, which can supply the mixture with a sufficient amount without the pumping loss of a suction valve and not requiring the pressurizing means for a fuel. SOLUTION: A suction valve on the cylinder head of a cylinder 8 upper part is eliminated and a new mixture is supplied from an air supply port 1 provided near the piston bottom dead center of the cylinder 8 inner periphery surface. After an explosion stroke, when the piston 4 is moved from the bottom dead center to top dead center, the exhaust is carried out while sucking the new mixture and one part of the mixture streamed out to an exhaust pipe 3 along with an exhaust gas is stored temporarily to the mixture sump of the exhaust pipe 3 at the near place of the top dead center, and then when the piston 4 is moved toward the bottom dead center, the mixture in the mixture sump is drawn in the cylinder 8 and when the piston 4 is moved to the top dead center again, the new mixture is sucked from the air supply port 1 and its mixture and the mixture drawn in from the mixture sump are compressed while being stirred and mixed.
