1,060,584. Bearings. W. SCHAEFFLER, and G. SCHAEFFLER, [trading as INDUSTRIEWERK SCHAEFFLER oHG]. May 5, 1964 [May 8, 1963], No. 18592/64. Heading F2A. A rolling bearing for the lower rollers of drafting mechanisms in spinning machines has two L-shaped sheet-metal rings (7), Fig. 1 (not shown), force-fitted on to an inner race (2). The radially-directed flanges of the rings (7) extend towards an outer race (1) to form a labyrinth seal therewith and also serve as axial abutment surfaces for a cage (4) which retains balls or rollers (3) in position. In a modification, the rings (7) are replaced by sheet-metal rings (8), Fig. 2 (not shown), the radially-directed flanges of which are bent over outwardly at (9) and have elastic sealing lips (10) fixed thereto. The lips (10) contact the bore of the outer race (1). In another modification, sheet-metal rings (11), Fig. 3 (not shown), are force-fitted on to the inner race (2) and have radially-directed flanges which are bent over outwardly at (12). Sheetmetal rings (13) having bent-over portions (14) are pressed on to the rings (11) and elastic sealing lips (15) are clamped between the bentover portions (12 and 14). The outer race (1) is provided with a lubricating nipple (5) and a pin (6), the latter preventing rotation of the race (1). |
