Data are sent and received between a video games machine 2, serving as a master unit of a data processing system 1, and a portable computer 3, serving as a slave unit, removably connected to the master unit. The portable computer is a PDA, and includes a radio communications facility. The video games machine has excellent data processing capability, but it has no radio communications facility. A recording medium such as a CD-ROM, loaded in the video games machine, stores communications control programs including a communication application 50, and a radio communication driver 70 for enabling radio communications between the portable computer and the external device ( 4, Figure 1) which may be a digital camera, or a personal computer, having a radio facility. The communications control programs are supplied from the games machine to the PDA, stored in a non-volatile memory (42, Figure 4) and are executed to enable data processed by the video games machine to be transmitted, via the PDA, to the external device. |
