The invention provides means for joining chair leg supports (5, 6) with a seat shell (1) consisting of laminated wood. Said seat shell may also have a three-dimensional shape. An insert (2) which is provided with continuous channels (4) is arranged between the layers of the seat shell (1) or on the bottom of the seat shell (1). Joining elements (3) can be guided through said channels (4). Said elements are joined to correspondingly configured attachment braces (5', 6') of the leg chair supports (5, 6) to withstand tensile stress. The insert (2) interacts with the seat shell (1) as the compressive element of said connection, thereby using the good compressive properties of the seat shell (1) for said connection. In addition to the chair leg supports (5, 6), any other supportive elements such as arm rests (8, 9) or back rests (10) can be likewise joined to the seat shell in the same manner. |
