Although the measurement of the cross correlation function is a well-known technique in signal processing and is utilised in radioastronomy to study the structure of the signal sources (stars, quasars), there are no known examples of its application to the autocalibration of the "fringe-wash" function, whose form will be determined fundamentally by the differences between the frequency responses of the receivers. <IMAGE>
