PURPOSE: A bicycle braking device is provided to enhance a momentary acceleration with propulsive force on starting of a bicycle after accumulating inertia of wheels and to prevent an accident beforehand with inhibiting sudden braking of wheels. CONSTITUTION: A braking device comprises a power transmitting instrument(2) delivering a torque of bicycle wheels(1), a storing instrument(3) storing the torque, a direction change instrument(4) converting direction of torque released as rotation proceeding in the direction and a drive instrument(5) transmitting torque to the wheels(1). In case of obtaining propulsion of bicycle, an actuating grip of propulsion installed in a handle is rotated. A cable linked with the grip is pulled and a ratchet claw hung on a ratchet of a drum is released for the drum to rotate in an opposite direction of bicycle proceeding due to restorative force of a spring. And a planetary gear engaged with an internal gear rotates as well in a reverse direction of the bicycle moving. Thereby a sun gear rotates in the same direction as bicycle and a ratchet is adjacent to rotate with the ratchet claw for rotating the hub as to obtain propulsion.
