THE SERVER AND METHOD FOR VALUE ADDED SERVICES IN SMS

PURPOSE: A system for processing a value added service(VAS) in a short message service(SMS) and a method therefor are to minimize an investment cost and manage the system with ease by a module of a system structure. CONSTITUTION: A short message connection unit(201) receives/transmits a short message. A VAS management unit(202) registers/modifies/deletes/updates various information. An IP connection unit(203) drives/stops an IP module. A VAS connection unit(204) processes the VAS received from the short message connection unit to transmit the processed information to the VAS management unit. An external network connection unit(205) connects an external network to the VAS management unit and the IP connection unit. A DB(database) management system connection unit(206) initializes/backups/restores the DB and gathers status information of the DB. An operation management unit(207) receives billing information and register information and generates statistic documents. An operator connection unit(208) demands VAS processing requests and outputs the processed results. A billing and customer control system(BCCS) (209) transmits the billing information and the register information to the operation management unit and the external network connection unit.
