PURPOSE: A damper is provided to reduce vibration and noise by appropriately acting damping force according to a vibration characteristic at an initial driving of a dehydrating process and a steady state. CONSTITUTION: A damper of a full automatic washing machine comprises a cylindrical cap(11) having a sliding slot(11a) and an air inlet(11b); a snubber bar(12) inserted in the sliding slot(11a) to be slid; a moving member(13) combined with the snubber bar(12); a spring(14) installed inside the cap(11) to support the moving member(13); a flexible member(16) installed outside the moving member(13) and contained an upper and a lower openings(15,15'); and C typed ring springs(17) to stick the flexible member(16) to an inner wall of the cap(11) by inserting in the openings. In a transient state, a damping is performed with large force by vertically moving the flexible member(16) to be contacted with the cap(11) through the ring springs(17). In a steady state, the small damping force is acted by flexibly transforming the flexible member(16) without sliding friction force between the cap(11) and the flexible member(16).
