PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and device for bypassing the defect position of a cache memory on a micro processor integrated circuit chip. SOLUTION: A comparator 30 compares the address of data transmitted so that it is stored in a cache memory 24 by a processor with an address stored in a redundant tag entry. When the address of data is matched with one address of the redundant tag entry, a storage buffer 28 stores data in a redundant entry S5. When they are not matched, data is stored in one of buffer entries S1-S4. The storage buffer transmits data stored in the buffer entry to the normal position of the cache memory and data stored in the redundant entry corresponding to the defect position of the cache memory is kept in the storage buffer. |
