PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress surge voltage produced due to the on/off operation of the semiconductor power conversion elements in a power conversion device without derioration in its conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: A surge voltage suppressing plate 1 comprising positive-side and negative-side conductive plates 2 and 3, formed on metal plates of almost the same size and shape and a thin insulating sheet 4 sandwiched between the plates 2 and 3 is electrically connected between a switching circuit which comprises semiconductor power conversion elements 5-10 and a smoothing capacitor 11, so that the positive-side conductive plate forms the positive-side bus and the negative-side conductive plate forms its negative-side bus. As a result, surge voltage is suppressed effectively, improvement in reliability and reduction of cost are realized, the constitution of the device as a whole is simplified, and its size and weight are reduced. |
