PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the position detecting precision of a mobile object regardless of the height of environmental temperature. SOLUTION: The position of a mobile object 15 is detected based on the directions of different magnetic lines of force generated from the mobile object 15 in a sensing device 2 for detecting the position of the mobile object 15. At the time of detecting the directions of the magnetic lines of force, the influence of the height of environmental temperature can be made smaller than that at the time of detecting the strength of magnetic field intensity in a conventional manner. Thus, the position detecting precision of the mobile object 15 can be improved.
