PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent coins from being held in a retaining zone from a coin shutter to the coin ejection side edge part of a coin paying-out belt. SOLUTION: After the paying-out of coins whose sum is made coincident with a paying-out sum is completed, whether or not the coins are retained at a coin ejection port side from a coin shutter on a coin ejection belt is judged from the detected output of at least one of a paying-out counting sensor and a material judgment sensor (ST22-ST25). Then, when it is judged that the coins are retained, a coin paying-out belt 25 is inverted for an instant, and then normally rotated in a constant time so that the retained coins can be paid out to a coin paying-out port 3 by a forced paying-out operation (ST28-ST31).
