PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device which quickly completes film fetching and is excellent in operability by preferentially performing a read operation by a reading means and the storage operation of read results by a storing means over image processing by an image processing means. SOLUTION: This device contains an image reading means 10, an image storing means 20, an image processing means 30 and a prohibiting means. The image reading means 10 reads an image recorded on a film. The image storing means 20 stores read results of an image by the means 10. The image processing means 30 performs image processing of the image of the read results stored in the means 20. The prohibiting means prohibits image processing by the means 30 while the means 10 stores the read results to the means 20. And, in this device, the read operation by the means 10 and the storage operation of the read results by the means 20 are preferentially performed over the image processing by the means 30.
