PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and noise by offsetting and compensating a tracking error signal leaking to a focusing error signal at the time of seeking operation. SOLUTION: This optical disk device offsets and compensates a crosstalk component of a tracking error signal leaking to a focusing error signal at the time of seeking operation for moving an optical pickup in the radial direction of the disk. As a result, the crosstalk component of the tracking error signal does not cause an increase in a drive current fed to a focus coil from a focusing drive circuit 8f, but it becomes possible to secure a freedom of design for a focusing phase compensation circuit 7f and further increase a transfer rate of recording information and decrease power consumption or reduce noise.
