The new (S)(+)-2-ethoxy-4-/N-/I-(2-piperidino-phenyl)-3-methyl-I-butyl/aminocarbonylmethyl/benzoic acid and its salts possess valuablepharmacological properties. They affect the intermediatemetabolism, in particular they reduce the blood sugar level. Theinvention also relates to new intermediate compounds havingformulae (1), (III), (IV) and (VII) listed in the description, aswell as to their adjunctive salts.
