PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the developer applying quantity stably maintained regardless of using over a long period by providing a metallic layer incorporating dispersed particles on the developer carrier surface. SOLUTION: This developing device is allowed to adopt aluminum as a base material 121a of a developing sleeve (developer carrier) 121 and to machine a surface thereof into a required state. Moreover, on the surface thereof, the metallic layer 121b applied with particles dispersed chemical nickel coating is provided. As main carbonized products as dispersing particles, carbonized silicon, carbonized chromium, carbonized tungsten, carbonized boric acid, or the like are quoted. The above materials are composed of particles with the relatively higher hardness, catalysis property and insoluble property. Therefore, it is possible for them to be dispersed in the metallic layer 121b formed by means such as the plating, and moreover wear preventive property of the metallic layer 12b is enhanced by applying such method. Thus, the developing sleeve 121 is made with the surface wear strength increased or lubrication property enhanced, so that roughness change on the surface layer on the developing sleeve 121 and the image density deterioration are prevented from occurring even in the case of using for a long period. |
