PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch device capable of preventing the rigidity of a hinge member from dropping and making thin the whole construction of device. SOLUTION: A key switch 1 has a pressing part 13a to press a rubber spring 6, wherein the part 13a is located at a hinge member 10 on its side nearer an engage pin 15 than a pivot 16 while a space 10a is formed at the hinge member 10 on its side opposite the pressing part 13a. As a reinforcing plate 10b is provided in this space 10a, the hinge part 10 is given a rigidity by the plate 10b even if the wall thickness of the pressing part 13a is reduced for making thin the key switch 1. Accordingly the key switch 1 can be constructed thin without causing drop of the rigidity of the hinge member 10. Despite thinness of the part 13a, the hinge member 10 is free of over-deflection when the key top 2 is depressed to ensure that a normal switching operation is conducted.
