PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchange system where an extension telephone set connecting to an exchange receives an incoming call by entering the extension number to a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a portable telephone set 101, where an output of an extension dial request to an extension telephone set 105 and entry of an extension dial program that is its reply are conducted by packet communication and line exchange communication is applied to a telephone number of an exchange stored in the entered extension dialing program and with an exchange 104, that uses a telephone number of the portable telephone set informed as a caller number to acquire a telephone number of the extension telephone set 105 stored in an extension dial request, upon the receipt of an incoming call from the portable telephone set 101 through line exchange communication so as to conduct line connection processing between the extension telephone set 105 and the portable telephone set 101. Thus, the portable telephone set 101 can dial the extension telephone set 105.
