PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element changeover device which contributes to a drastic reduction in the cost and is capable of providing the effect similar to the effect of the prior art with simple constitution. SOLUTION: This optical element changeover device has a turret 1 arranged with optical elements 9 of the kinds varying from each other and a DC motor 2 for rotating the turret and selectively arranges the optical elements into a microscope optical path. In such a case, the device has origin detecting means 14, 15 for detecting the rotating position of the turret when one among the optical elements is inserted into the microscope optical path as the origin and a changeover detecting means for counting the number of changeover times of the optical element from the origin.
