PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reproduce information signals with low jitter in spite of an increase in number of overwriting times. SOLUTION: This optical disk has a recording layer for recording and erasing the information by a phase transition between an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase by photoirradiation. This recording layer consists of a GeSbTe compound. The composition of this GeSbTe compound exists within a rang enclosed by three points A to C; A(Ge24 Sb23 Te53), B (Ge21 Sb23 Te56) and C (Ge21 Sb26 Te53) (at.%). |
