The method is used in the pharmaceutical industry. It reduces the operation volumes in an early stage of the technological process thus enabling the operation using small amounts of organic solvents. The scheme used for the recrystallization of the raw lovastatin produced guarantees greater purity and yield of the end products. Lovastatin is isolated by the cultural liquid treated by concentrated alkaline base by adsorption on activated carbon in the presence of antioxidant, it is lactonized and is desorbed in chloroform medium. The raw lovastatin cystallizes through acetonitrile at -20_C and recrystallizes subsequently through nitrile-water, through a mixture of acetate of lower alcohol and alkane C7-C9 and through acetone. 5 claims
