<p>A vertical blind system (18) and a carriage (20) for use therein is disclosed. Each carriage (20) has a drive gear (26) rotatably mounted therein at an inclined angle to a support rail (36) when its carriage (20) is fitted thereto and being adapted rotatably to support a hook (22, 22.1, 22.2) from which a vertical blind slat (24) is to be suspended. The drive gear (26) has a drive gear disc (26.1) with upwardly extending gear teeth (26.2) and extending through less than 360°. The width (W) of the carriage (20) is less than the diameter (D) of the drive gear disc (26) and when assembled on a control rod (28), spaces (30, 31) are present on either side of the inclined gear disc (26.1), for respectively receiving a part of a gear disc (26.1) of each of two neighbouring adjacent carriages (20).</p> |
