PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the low temperature start of an in-cylinder direct fuel injection type engine. SOLUTION: As the fuel is hardly evaporated at the low temperature start time, it is necessary to inject a comparatively great amount of fuel, but in the case of a suction pipe injection type engine, even if the fuel is injected at any time, the fuel is supplied to a combustion room surely in a suction process. Against this, in the case of the direct injection in cylinder type engine, the fuel injected in the cylinder is discharged along with an exhaust gas excepting in the entire zone of the suction process and the first half of the compression process or as the pressure of the combustion room becomes high like the latter half of the compression process, the fuel injection is not really carried out even if the injection valve is opened, so when an ignition is performed in either cylinder and the number of rotation is rapidly increased, the effective injection amount is reduced and the start can not be achieved. Then, for example, the supply power to the starter 15 is restrained by the starter electric source control device 16 exerted by the control signal of ECU 17 and the effective injection amount is ensured sufficiently by reducing the number of cranking rotation.
