MANUFACTURE OF METALLIC PIPE HAVING INTERNAL PARTITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a metallic pipe the inner part of which is partitioned with a partition without generating a molten or solidified part on the outer surface. SOLUTION: Both end parts in the width direction of a partition are bent to form bending parts 2u, 2d. A pipe wall and the bending part 2u or 2d of a pipe stock 1 are held with an inner electrode ring 5 and an outer electrode ring 6, and the bending part 2u or 2d is seam welded in the state that the bending part 2u or 2d is pressurized against the pipe wall of the pipe stock 1. A seam weld zone 3 is formed in a contacting part between the bending part 2u or 2d and the inner surface of the pipe wall of the pipe stock 1 and therefore the outer surface of the pipe stock 1 is not affected with the seam weld zone.
