PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a towel rail across a wide range and improve the usability by attaching a fitting frame to a left/right pair of outer rails having towel stops via a bellows hoses and by inserting an inner rail between the pair of outer rails in such a state as taking-in/out freely. SOLUTION: This opening/closing and contraction/extension type towel rail is so constituted that a pair of left/right L-shaped outer rails 2 having towel stops 4 are provided, fitting frames 1 are attached to vertical shaft parts of respective outer rails 2 via bellows hoses 3, and an inner rail 5 is inserted between horizontal shaft parts of the pair of left/right outer rails 2 in such a state as taking-in/out freely. Each fitting frame 1 is attached to a wall side by an adhesive tape, a sucker, and a screw fitting, however, the outer rails 2 are contracted/extended from the inner rail 5 so that the width can be adapted for a place to be used. When the outer rails 2 are pulled down, the bellows hoses 3 are extended so that even a small child can reach the towel.
