PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound having an inhibitory action on production of tumor necrosis factor(TNF) and interleukin-1(IL-1). SOLUTION: This 1H-imidazopyridine derivative is shown by the general formula (R1 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a styryl group or an aryl group; R2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a cyclic amino group or a phenoxy group; ring A is a homocyclic or heterocycle ring which may be substituted; R3 is a saturated nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; and (m) is an integer of 0-3) or its salt. The derivative or its salt has an excellent inhibitory action on production of TNF and IL-1 and is extremely useful as a preventive of a therapeutic agent for diseases caused by these cytokines.
