ELECTROSTATIC SORTING APPARATUS AND SORTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a high voltage power supply apparatus and an electric shock measure and to achieve cost reduction while eliminating the danger of an electric shock. SOLUTION: A charge means 1 for positively or negatively charging respective element matters 9, 10 of a mixture comprising two or more kinds of element matters 9, 10 different in component is arranged above a sorting route and an electrostatic separation means 2 equipped with a drum 7 charged by the friction with a friction element 8 is arranged under the charge means 1 and a recovery container 3 recovering the element matters separated by the electrostatic separation means 2 is arranged further under the electrostatic separation means 2. The element matters 9 charged to polarity different from that of the drum 7 are attracted to the surface of the drum and scraped off by a scraper 11 to be recovered in a recovery container 3b. The element matters 10 charged to polarity same to that of the drum 7 are repelled to be recovered in a recovery container 3a. By this constitution, the mixture is sorted into the element matters 9, 10.
