PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat in a uniform thickness a reduced amount of coating-liquid and to easily change the coating width by preventing sedimentation of the coating-liquid by feeding the coating-liquid to a dam from its top while moving the feeding position in the process of coating by using a comma coater. SOLUTION: Coating-liquid is fed to a dam 6 from the top through a nozzle 9 from a degassing vessel, and at that time the nozzle 9 is reciprocated by a driving device 8 in the direction of the width of the dam 6. The height of the coating-liquid stored in the dam 6 is detected by a sensor 10 so that the feed of the coating-liquid may be controlled. As the driving device 8, a system wherein a support of the nozzle 9 is engaged in a guide groove formed on the surface of a rotary bar and the rotary bar is reciprocated only by a quantity corresponding to the width of the dam 6 can be used. This constitution allows coating in a uniform thickness with a smaller amount of the coating-liquid, together with each change of the coating width.
