METHOD FOR REMOVING NOX FROM NITROSYL SULFATE

PURPOSE: A method is provided for removing NOx from nitrosyl hydrogen sulfate in a simple process at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: adding sulfuric acid containing N2O3bled from a mixture reactor to a saturation reactor; introducing an SO2-containing gas partly flowing upward through the N2O3-containing sulfuric acid from the lower part of the saturation reactor; adding water to the saturation reactor; bleeding 5 to 60 wt.% of sulfuric acid not containing NOx; and supplying at least 2 wt.% of SO2 with respect to the weight of NOx of nitrisyl hydrogen sulfate. The method further comprises the steps of mixing nitrosyl hydrogen sulfate with the SO2-saturated sulfuric acid in the mixture reactor; bleeding N2O3-containing sulfuric acid from the mixture reactor; and passing a stripping gas through the sulfuric acid to remove NOx from nitrosyl hydrogen sulfate.
