PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the circulation supply time of an ink supply container by constituting an air shock absorber out of an upper air reserving section and a lower recording ink reserving section and setting the horizontal cross-sectional area of the lower recording ink reserving section smaller than that of the upper air reserving section. SOLUTION: The air shock absorber 1 is coupled with an ink supply oath 2 and an ink discharge path 3 and the liquid level in an ink reserving section 10 is set by the arranging position of the end face of the ink discharge path 3. Volume of the ink reserving section 10 is set smaller than that of an air reserving section 11. More specifically, cross-sectional area of the ink reserving section 10 is restricted significantly as compared with that of the air reserving section 11. According to the structure, a sufficient air reservation volume as well as a sufficient liquid level for preventing flow out of air from a recording head through reciprocation of a carriage can be ensured while reducing the volume of ink being reserved in the ink reserving section 10 and the circulation supply time of an ink supply container can be shortened. |
