PURPOSE: A method for minimizing high frequency emission from a plug-in adaptor card of a computer system is provided to control an electromagnetic emission from external lines connected to an adaptor card by using a resonance circuit. CONSTITUTION: A method for minimizing high frequency emission from a plug-in adaptor card of a computer system is to reduce efficiently electromagnetic emission from a computer system. The noise generated on a modem adaptor card in the computer system is controlled efficiently by extending a voltage reference plane. The extension reference plane is connected to the voltage reference plane of the adaptor card by impedance circuits. The extension reference plane becomes a cause of composite reference plane. The composite reference plane does not resonate at the frequency of the signal generating the noise. The reference planes are electrically connected to a high frequency by resonance circuits. In the low frequency, the reference planes are not connected to control the resonance.
