PURPOSE: A display device minimizes a spread of color, surely suppresses a light emitting in case of a non-driving operation, enhances a response speed, and enhances a brightness. CONSTITUTION: A display device has a light source(11) which forms an optical beam having a wavelength element below 500nm. A liquid crystal panel(12) is adjacent to the light source, and controls an optical beam. Luminous colorant is formed in the liquid panel. The luminous colorant forms many pixels in the liquid crystal panel. Each pixel includes area forming a red luminous colorant, area forming a green luminous colorant, and a blank area not forming a luminous colorant. Thereby, the display device minimizes a spread of color, surely suppresses a light emitting in case of a non-driving operation, enhances a response speed, and enhances a brightness.
