PURPOSE: An IPC(Inter Processor Communication) device of a communication system is provided to perform the IPC with a high speed, by performing the IPC between the boards of the inside communication system, using ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cells having message delivery characteristics with a high speed. CONSTITUTION: An IPC(Inter Processor Communication) device of a communication system using ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cells, converts an IPC message into an E1 signal in a matching board of a cell bus, when the right to use the cell bus is given to transmit the IPC message to a reception board from a transmission board, and when sending the IPC message with an ATM cell type to the cell bus. The IPC device transmits the IPC message to a reception IPC device, and converts the received E1 signal into the IPC message. When sending the IPC message to the cell bus, the reception board recognizes a message for receiving from a header of the sent IPC message, and receives the IPC message when the right for using the cell bus is given.
