PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider which has a high degree of freedom for design high and is easy to manufacture at the time of recording and/or reproducing on/from a recording medium by using the near optical field. SOLUTION: At the time of recording and or reproducing on/from a recording medium, a slider 1 for an optical head is constituted by joining a catadioptric lens 7 on a slider member 3 running on the recording medium in a state floating over the recording medium or in a contact state thereon. In this case, the slider member 3 and the catadioptric lens 7 are joined into an optical one body, and an numerical aperture NA of the optical system consisting of the slider member 3 and the catadioptric lens 7 is made to 1 or larger. Moreover, a focal plane of the light made incident from the side of the catadioptric lens 7 should be arranged to be on the opposite plane of the recording medium of the slider member 3. |
