PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract the full potential capability from a synchronous motor having a small capacity by outputting further its torque even when its driving voltage are saturated. SOLUTION: The torque controller of a synchronous motor 10 having a small capacity has a control circuit 20 and a feedback circuit 30. The control circuit 20 computes voltage Vu, Vv, Vw applied to stator coils 19 of the motor 10 from a torque-current command value IQc to apply the computed results to the stator coils 19. The feedback control circuit 30 feeds back to the control circuit 20 actual torque-currents iu, iv, iw flowing through the stator coils 19. When the applied voltages Vu, Vv, Vw to the stator coils 19 turn saturated, the control circuit 20 creates an excitation current IDc having a different phase from the torque-current command value IQc to alter the applied voltages Vu, Vv, Vw, and operates to so correct the value of the excitation current IDc that a fed-back actual torque-current Iq is matched with the torque-current command value IQc. As the synchronous motor 10, a cross-pole motor can be used. |
