PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which the position of a movable plunger can be controlled in only two ways, depending on whether a coil is energized or not in the conventional plunger solenoid equipment. SOLUTION: First and second movable plungers 4, 5 are installed, which are driven in a direction such that they are brought near each other by electromagnetic attraction generated by energization of a coil 2. Energizing members 6, 7 are also installed which energize these movable plungers in a direction opposite to that in which they are attracted to each other. When a specified heavy current is caused to flow in the coil, the second movable plunger is driven in the direction, in which it is attracted to the first movable plunger unit its movement is restricted by the first movable plunger's abutting against the second movable plunger. When a specified small current is caused to flow in the coil, the attractive drive of the second movable plunger is restricted by the energizing force of the energizing member 7, so that the first movable plunger is driven in the direction in which it is allowed to be attracted to the second movable plunger with attractive drive beyond the specified position.
