PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the total productivity by discriminating whether or not 2nd image data can be read during transfer of 1st image data read by a read means and reading the 2nd image data when possibility of reading is discriminated so as to avoid occupancy of an original read section. SOLUTION: Assuming an image of a 1st original is being transferred via a scanning image revision section 113 and a network communication I/F 115 while a 3rd original in 4 originals is being read. In this case, an image of a 2nd original is written in an HD 112. The end of transfer of the image of the 1st original is informed from a function control section 109 and the image whose transfer is finished is deleted from the HD 112. In this case, the reading of the 3rd original is finished and the image of the 2nd original is being transferred. When number of pages of the image read from the HD 112 does not reach a number of pages of the written image, the transfer of the image of a succeeding original is started.
