PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image rich in gradation reproducibility where tone jump is suppressed by generating test batch image data consisting of a combination of a recording density and a recording area rate while a recording density difference is selected to be a prescribed value or below and using the test batch image data and a prediction density of a corresponding test batch so as to generate a conversion table of image density. SOLUTION: First test batch image data are generated through a combination of a recording density in density modulation and a recording are rate in area modulation. In this embodiment, the test batch image data are generated so that a difference in recording density in one pixel is within 0.2 in density, for example. A conversion table is generated by using the test batch image data and a means value of each density in one pixel of the test batch. A conversion section 18 of a processing section 14 of a printer 10 based on the conversion table converts the processed image data into a combination of a recording pattern and each dot recording density. |
